Maybe it is due to growing up in a very non-picturesque small town surrounded by trailer courts and factories, but I have always felt the need to surround myself with and create pretty things
Cynical Redhead Creations is a culmination of the work I have done over the last two decades. I am completely self taught and continue to learn new techniques and seek out inspiration whenever and wherever I can. My love of pinup girls, pulp fiction novels, time spent outdoors and kawaii fabric is evident in most of what I do.
My collages are mainly acrylic and paper on canvas with a sprinkling of vintage and found items. I especially enjoy creating personalized collages, incorporating a song lyric, poem, photo, ticket stub or just about anything someone throws my way into the collage, and I love helping others give personal gifts to the ones they care about most.
In my accessory and jewelry designs, I make flirty, eye catching pieces. My accessories can be worn by women of just about all ages and sizes and with everything from a t-shirt and jeans to a wedding dress.
I love the idea that my designs are bringing little bits of beauty into peoples’ everyday lives. If you look at something I’ve made and smile or wear something I’ve made and feel prettier, I’ve done what I set out to do.
